LifeWIRE utilizes a suite of approved software tools for internal use by workforce members. These software tools are either self-hosted, with security managed by LifeWIRE, or they are hosted by a Subcontractor with appropriate business associate agreements in place to preserve data integrity. Use of other tools requires approval from LifeWIRE leadership.

20.1 List of Approved Tools

  • Microsoft Visual Studio Online.  LifeWIRE is solely using Microsoft Visual Studio Online (previously called TSF). It is utilized for storage of configuration scripts and other infrastructure automation tools, as well as for source and version control of application code used by LifeWIRE.
  • OneDrive. OneDrive is used for storage of files and sharing of files with Partners and Customers.
  • Outlook365. Outlook365 is used for email and document collaboration.
  • JIRA. JIRA is used for configuration management and to generate artifacts for compliance procedures.

 

20.2 Changes to Approved Tools

The Security Officer shall review the Approved Tools list at least annually for appropriateness. Any other request to add, modify, or delete from the Approved Tools list must be made to the Security Officer. The Security Officer must approve any changes, modifications or additions to the Approved Tools List prior to implementation. Once approved, any tools which have been removed from the list, either for end of life or for any other reason, must be removed from the LifeWIRE systems within 30 days. The Security Officer must supervise the removal and certify completion.
